Advanced Tactics

Captaincy - You can select a captain for the upcoming game. The captain influences other players in the team and helps to coordinate the team's tactics on the pitch. Qualities of a good captain include good leadership, intelligence, experience and vision.

Preferred penalty taker - You can select a preferred penalty taker should any penalties arise in a game. Shooting skill is important but other qualities such as a cool-head and finish also have a minor influence.

Preferred free-kick taker - You can select a preferred free-kick taker should any free kicks be awarded within shooting distance of the goal. Free kicks elsewhere on the park will be taken by whoever is closest.

Preferred left corner taker - Normally the closest person to the ball will take a corner kick. You can specify a preferred corner taker (perhaps he is left footed or maybe shorter than your other players) to take the majority of kicks from the left corner spot.

Preferred right corner taker - Normally the closest person to the ball will take a corner kick. You can specify a preferred corner taker (perhaps he is right footed or maybe shorter than your other players) to take the majority of kicks from the right corner spot.

Team Bonus - You can set a win bonus for the team for next upcoming match. Setting a win bonus may provide an additional incentive for players to do well on the pitch. Note that you only pay out the win bonus if your team wins the match.

Substitutions - Normally substitutions only happen if a player is injured and needs replacing. You can set conditional substitutions to replace players in other circumstances using the advanced substitution options.

Advanced Plays - You can switch your tactical style during the game depending on certain conditions with this option.

Advanced Formation - You can switch your formation during the game depending on certain conditions. Players will re-arrange themselves accordingly. This option works well in conjunction with the advanced substitution option.

Advanced Aggression - You can choose for your team to step up the pressure or take it easy mid-way through the game. This is useful should you wish to chase that elusive equaliser/winner or just to reduce the chance of injuries. Changing your teams aggression will have an effect on the total fitness cost of the game on your players.

Note that Advanced Tactics are only available in the Premier Game.
