Derby Teams
Some clubs have long-standing local rivals, and a match between them is a derby. In the premier games every derby is a sell-out: the fans turn up whatever the form book says.
Who are your rivals?
Rivalries follow the real clubs' history, and your team page lists your club's rivals under Rivals. They are fixed: you cannot choose your own.
What a derby means for your club
- A full house. The home club fills every seat, however the teams are doing and whatever the ticket prices, so a derby is one of the best paydays of the season.
- The home crowd behind you. In a league derby, the full stadium gives the home side the same small lift as any sell-out.
This applies to any match between rivals, in the league or a cup.
On the pitch, a derby is played like any other match: the players do not tackle harder or try harder because of the rivalry.
In the free and custom games
Derbies are a premier game feature. Your team page may still list your rivals, but a match against them is played as a normal match.
